Don't Panic! How to Clean Up Foam Adhesive

Category:Blogs DATE:June 30, 2024

We pride ourselves on our high-quality foam adhesives, which offer exceptional bonding strength. However, this strong adhesion can sometimes lead to accidental contact with clothing. Here's a guide to help you tackle these situations calmly and effectively.

Act Quickly for Easier Removal:

Uncured foam adhesive is highly sticky on both skin and clothes. The key is to  address spills or splashes immediately before the adhesive cures. The sooner you act, the easier the cleanup will be.

Cleaning Up Uncured Foam Adhesive:

Wash with Plenty of Water: Rinse the affected area thoroughly with clean water. This will help remove most uncured adhesive.

If Adhesion Persists:

- Seek Medical Attention (if on skin): If the adhesive is stuck to your skin and won't wash off easily, consult a healthcare professional for safe removal.

- Consider Alternative Methods (for clothes): For stubborn adhesive on clothes, explore additional methods (to be covered in a future guide).

Removing Cured Foam Adhesive (Clothes Only):

- Blade Removal (with Caution): Once the adhesive is completely cured and dry, you can carefully scrape it off with a blade. Important: This method is not suitable for skin and should only be used on clothing with caution to avoid damaging the fabric.

Additional Tips (to be covered later):

- Sunlight Exposure: Sunlight may help dry the adhesive further, potentially making it easier to remove by hand.

We understand that dealing with foam adhesive on clothes can be frustrating.  We'll be sharing more advanced cleaning methods in the future to equip you for various situations.

In the meantime, remember:  Prompt action is key for easier cleanup of uncured foam adhesive.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.
